Description
8 Half Round BRASS? Confused? I tested this file on a Rockwell RC55 hardened steel. Yes, it cut very aggressively and will cut steel like butter. These files are unbranded. However, I can assure they were made by Nicholson since they were in the same box as Nicholson branded. So, I will price these two as unbranded. Take a look at the pictures on the tooth construction angles. These are like nothing you have had in your hands! This file was manufactured in the USA in some of the oldest file plants in the USA. Long ago shut down. Was made before the 1960's.
File is made from C10-130 carbon steel. Also, no longer available. Some of the last Quality Nicholson file you can purchase. You and 10 others will be the only people in the country to have a file like this!
Generally used by machinists, engineers and repair men and because of the section being
rounded on one side and flat on the other are extremely useful files.
The filing of brass, copper, bronze and similar metals require a special type file. The brass file is very sharp! Only light pressure is needed to file the metal.
