    Description

1952 Bucyrus-Erie 20-W Cable Tool Well Drilling Rig. Includes tool, some bits, J-wrenches, Bailer and lots of little stuff.  Please note, any old machine like this is a project and a learning experience, don't think you're just gonna roll right up and get into it.  Please read the description thoroughly.
Deck engine is the original Red Seal, starts and runs like a champ.  We used a plastic fuel tank and it might help to add a 12v fuel pump. Lots of life left on all the big gears.

There is no title for the truck.
Bucyrus-Erie Cable tool rigs were the gold standard of drilling in this country for decades and the 20-w and the next size up, the 22-W were the workhorses of the trade. You can still get parts for this machine from Buckeye Tool in Ohio who bought the specs for these old machines when Bucyrus-Erie went under. Check out their website at www.buckeyedrill.com.
Old machine, runs great but has issues and needs some TLC.
Mounted on 1978 I think International Loadstar 1700 single axle truck.  The engine fires right up every time and you can drive fine, stopping is a little more issue, we always used the hand brake. I don't know about the electrical or any of the other stuff n the truck.  It really should be hauled away, it should not be driven on the open road.
Really it needs an overhaul before putting it into use:
    Spudder clutch has some issues
Support struts for the derrick need to be re-worked
Aftermarket fuel pump for the deck engine, the original four cylinder Red Seal engine, which runs GREAT but has some issued drawing the fuel from the tank on it’s own or by gravity.
    Sand line needs replacing
It has only about 250 feet of main line so that limits the drilling depth
    Various minor issues
And of course it needs to be put into a different truck if you’re going mobile.
Call me if you have any questions
I am sad to sell it, the machine is super cool. The engineering behind this 1952 machine is incredible, it runs great and has done great for us but we don’t have time to use it or work on it. Need the space…
